And the title of this artwork is “Vitality". Looking at these hands in this artwork, I felt an invisible spiritual connection and unity between humans. The effects of COVID-19 have caused the world to be in a difficult situation now. However I felt a mental connection between humans. As the title suggests, this is a work that is appropriate in the current state of COVID-19, where human connections support life.What springs to mind when you hear the word “connections"? I think that now many people may think of words that make them aware of the connections between people.Artist FUJIMOTO Sora said that connecting with people led her to the title of "Vitality" because it is a way of life and one of the vital forces. For the artist, "connections" refers to the spirit of connecting and supporting people. In this artwork, multiple connected hands with different nail colors and arm lengths are depicted.FuJIMOTO SORA今年のポストカード展のテーマは「Connections」。そしてこの作品のタイトルは『Vitality』。皆は「Connections」と聞いて思い浮かべるワードは何だろうか。このご時世、人間同士の繋がりを意識するワードを思い浮かべる人も多いのではないか。人と繋がることは生きること、そして生命力の一つになっているということから『vitality』というタイトルにつながっている、とアーティストの藤元空氏は述べた。アーティストにとって「Connections」とは、人と人との繋がりや支え合う精神のことを指す。この作品には、幾つもの腕の両端に伸びた手が握手によって繋がれており、指の爪はそれぞれ違った色で描かれている。具象と抽象の入り混じった表現を見せるこれらの手からは、様々な人間同士の目に見えない精神的な繋がりや、人間同士の結束感も感じられる。まさに「Vitality」のタイトルの通り、人間同士の繋がりが生きることを支えるという、コロナ禍の今にふさわしい作品と言えるだろう。藤元 空田中 鈴蘭TANAkA SuZukA
