29LucY STEWART MuRRAY田中 鈴蘭/ TANAKA Suzuka キュレーター / Curator1999年 日本 東京都 世田谷区出身 女子美術大学 芸術文化専攻 ３年生芸術表象ゼミと色彩学ゼミに所属｡展覧会巡りが趣味。好きな食べ物は海老。この作品には、犬やシャツ、ワインといった共通点のない様々なイラストが描かれている。しかしよく見ると、ワインとぶどう、釘とハンマーなど関連するものも描かれている。作者にとって「connection」とは人々がコミュニケーションを取ること、そしてお互いを理解することに役に立つものだと述べている。またこれらを表現するには言語だけでなく、画像も必要だ。そうして作られたものがこの作品「Association」である。この作品を制作する際にまず作られたものが、mind-mapという作者が「connection」と言うテーマから連想したアイデアや関連するトピックをまとめたもので、作者の脳のつながりを表現したものである。作者のルーシーはこの作品の制作意図として、脳の中で言葉と言葉が自然に結びついていると言うことを伝えたいと述べた。つまり一見するとバラバラに見えるこの作品でも、よく見るとそれぞれに結びつきがあるように、言葉はひとつひとつにつながりがあり、言葉と言葉は結びついていると言うことを表現している。Born in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan.
