45学生たちは、構成や編集を意識した論文集、プロジェクト報告やポートフォリオの作成に活用できるAdobe InDesignを学び始めて３年目になります。キュレーター自身がエッセイを書き、意図のある紙面を構成し、バイリンガル（日/英）の記録集を編集した経験は、彼女たちの将来の仕事を助けるでしょう。本講座は、美術やデザインを専門としない専攻の学生にも、意図を意識した編集デザインを学び、一冊の記録集を出版するまでの過程を実体験できるよう設計されています。学生たちは、お互いの得意なこと、不得意なことを共有しながら明確な期日のある作業を分担しました。顔が見えないオンラインでの共同作業では、言葉を選び、専門用語を使った正確なコミュニケーションが必要でした。執筆や翻訳はもちろん、画像を選び加工すること、読みやすい紙面レイアウト、文章を組むこと、統一感のあるデザイン、自分の得意不得意を伝え目的のために協働するコミュニケーション、読み手を意識した内容の検討など、実に様々な作業が必要でした。特に、授業外の時間にも、読みやすさや本のコンセプトを確認しながらデザインを試行錯誤した、フォローチームのみなさんの情熱は素晴らしかったです。もちろん、３年生全員がどこかのページに携わり、３年間の学びの成果が発揮されています。携わった学生全員が、初めての出版物を手にする達成感、読み手と作り手、両者の立場になって読み返すたびに、新たな学びや発見があることを願っています。そして...そんなプロセスも想像しながら、学生の研究成果をお読みいただければ幸甚です。This is the third year since the students started to learn Adobe InDesign, which can be used to create thesis collections, project reports, and portfolios with organization and editing in mind. The experience of the curators themselves writing essays, composing purposeful papers, and editing bilingual (Japanese/English) collections of documentation will help them in their future work.This course is designed to give students of a non-art and design major a hands-on opportunity to learn about intention-al editorial design and to experience the process of publish-ing a collection of activity records. The students shared each other’s strengths and weaknesses and assigned tasks with clear deadlines. Collaborating online, without face-to-face contact required precise communication, choosing words and using technical terms. In addition to writing and translating, they had to select and edit images, create an easy-to-read layout, compose text, create a harmonized design, communicate their strengths and weaknesses, work together to reach their goals, and consider the content with the reader in mind.In particular, the passion of the follow-up team, who worked outside of class to design the book through trial and error, checking for readability and the concept of the book, was wonderful. Of course, all of them are involved in some pages, and the results of our three years of study are being demon-strated.I hope that all the students involved will feel a sense of accom-plishment when they hold their first publication in their hands, and that they will learn and discover something new every time they reread it from the perspective of both reader and creator.
