32020年初春以来、コロナウイルスによる大規模なパンデミックが何度も引き起こされ、2022年を迎えてもなお、思うようにいかない日々が続いています。今回のイギリス研修も国内はもちろん、海外への渡航がほとんどできない状況の中、2021年春に予定されていた私たちのイギリス研修は、オンラインによる画面越しのものとなりました。例年実施してきたラフバラ大学と女子美術大学の合同ポストカード展、そして英会話の授業がオンラインとなり、ラフバラ大学の皆さんとのやりとりもほとんど文字や文章を介したものでしたが、対面での会話では得ることができないようなものを私たちは感じました。文字でやりとりしたことによって、教授や英語が堪能な学生と助け合って翻訳し、結果的に相手の言いたいことを深く理解することができました。生まれた国が違うと口で伝えるよりも文字で伝えることの方が、手間や時間はかかれど相手の伝えたいこと、言いたいことがしっかり伝わると気付くことができました。なお本書には『コロナ禍とアート』というテーマで私達のエッセイを綴っています。コロナ禍によって現実世界との隔たりが出来、ネット空間での繋がりを新たに得たのは私達の周囲だけではありません。美術館のあり方や新たに生まれた価値観により、芸術というジャンルがどのようにコロナと向き合っているのかを考え、文章にまとめたものです。向こうとこちらの『繋がり』。ネットでの挑戦。それによる新しい発見。コロナ禍で経験したこと、考えたこと、そんな集大成がこの冊子に詰まっています。ぜひ、ご一読いただけたら幸いです。最後に、ポストカード展に参加してくれた皆さんに心を込めて感謝いたします。女子美術大学 芸術学部美術学科芸術文化専攻 2020年度イギリス研修生一同Third Year Students of the Concentration in Art and CultureJoshibi University of Art & Design, Japan.Thank you for choosing to read our catalog. 2021 was a year that didn't go as expected due to the large-scale pandemic caused by COVID-19. This year's studies related to the UK were conducted via our computer screens. Most of the commu-nication with Loughborough University students were through written words typed on devices. But in such a situation, we felt something we couldn't get in face-to-face conversations. By communicat-ing in writing, everyone tried hard to translate with the help of professors and students who are fluent in English, and as a result, we were able to more deeply understand what each person wanted to say.It's true that writing takes time and effort. However, when interacting with people from different coun-tries, we realized that choosing the method of writ-ing rather than speaking could give us a better idea of what the other person wants to say and convey. In class, we also wrote essays on the theme of “COVID-19 Pandemic and Art”.We are not the only ones who have been separated from the real world by COVID-19 and have gained new connections using the Internet. We students have considered how the genre of art is confronting COVID according to the way museums are orga-nized and newly born values, and summarized this as essays.
