AFTER FINISHING OuR STuDIES IN THE cOvID-19 cRISISAfter Finishing Our Studies in the COVID-19 Crisis : TAGAYA Mayu71新型コロナウィルスが発生し、世界的パンデミックを起こしてから早くも一年が経ちました。感染拡大を防ぐため「三密」と呼ばれる密集・密接・密閉を避け、オンライン授業、商業施設や飲食店の休業・営業時間の短縮などが現在も行われています。これらの新しい生活様式が導入されたため、美術館や私たちが通う美術大学では講義や閲覧仕様を変更する必要がありました。緊急事態宣言やロックダウンにより開館することが難しくなった美術館では、公式サイトで展示品を閲覧できる取り組みなどが導入されました。日本では、スタジオジブリが映画のシーンを写真提供することが話題となりました。また、昨年4月の緊急事態宣言から大学の授業は主にオンラインとなり、実習もオンラインで行われました。女子美では、作品制作に必要な画材を学生宅に郵送することで自宅で作品制作ができる様にしたり、デジタルで絵を描いてデータで提出する形式などが取り入れられ、非常事態宣言が緩和された今でも、実技授業以外の講義はまだオンラインで行われています。また、対面授業ができなかったため、学期末課題などもテストではなくレポート提出が主でした。こういった人々との直接の関わりをなるべく避け、画面上での関わりが増えたことにより、文面による言葉の意味と表現についてより深く考えるようになりました。コロナ禍になる前までは人と話す時に、相手の表情・仕草・身振り・雰囲気・イントネーションから感情や意図を読み取ることができましたが、画面越しでのコミュニケーションがメインとなったため、これらから人の感情や意図を読み取ることが難しくなりました。芸術文化専攻では、二年生の春休み中に約一ヶ月のイギリス研修が行われます。これは、芸術文化専攻の学生にとって四年間の大学生活の中で一番大きなイベントです。研修中は、ラフバラ大学の学生と英語の授業を受けたり、イギリスの美術館を訪問することで、英語力やコミュニケーション能力を高め、日本の美術館との違いやイギリスの美術館の特徴を目の当たりにすることで知識を深め、It has already been a year since the outbreak of COVID-19 caused a worldwide pandemic. In Japan, Studio Ghibli provided scene photos.And mainly university classes were held online, and practical classes were also held online during the state of emergency declaration in April last year. In Joshibi, the painting materi-als necessary for the production of the work were sent to the student’s house, and the style such as producing at home or drawing pictures online and submitting them as data were incorporated. Even now that the state of emergency has been relaxed, lectures other than for practical skills are still being held online. In addition, because face-to-face lessons were not possible, tests were not conducted and assignments such as reports were mainly submitted.Due to the situation where direct contact with people was avoided as much as possible, the increased interaction on the screen made me think more about the meaning and expres-sion of words.Before COVID-19, when talking to a person, it was possible to read emotions and intentions from the other person’s facial expressions, habits, gestures, atmosphere, and intonation of words. However, since the communication over the screen became the norm, we could not feel and read them.In the Concentration in Arts and Culture, roughly a month of studies in the UK is held during the spring break of the second year. This is the biggest event in four years of student life for students majoring in arts and culture. During the study trip, we strengthen our English skills and communication skills through English classes and exchanges with students at Lough-borough University, and by visiting museums in the UK.
